Cross River State Government Takes Initiative in Compensating Landowners Affected by Road and Airport Projects
The governor of Cross River, Bassey Otu, announced that the state government would no longer rely on the Federal Government to compensate landowners impacted by the reconstruction of the Calabar-Uyo federal highway before proceeding with the project.
To prevent any delays in the rehabilitation of the road, Governor Otu emphasized that his administration would proceed with compensating affected landowners promptly.
Following the 4th State Executive Council meeting, Otu stated, “To ensure that the construction work on the Calabar-Itu highway, specifically the Odukpani section, maintains its momentum, we have decided to initiate compensation payments to landowners affected by the road expansion.
