Fire Incident Disrupts Flights at Lagos Airport
Operations at Murtala Muhammed Airport terminal 1 and the D wing have been redirected by the Federal Airport Authority (FAAN) due to a recent fire outbreak.
An official statement from FAAN mentioned that power has been cut off from the entire E wing of the airport as engineers work to extinguish the fire that started at 5:29 am on Thursday.
Reportedly, smoke initially emanated from the E54 bridge and later escalated into a fire, causing panic among airport staff and travelers at the scene.
FAAN, in collaboration with the Airport Rescue and Firefighting Services team, managed to bring the situation under control after a brief period of chaos.
