Center ranks Kano worst governed, least performing state in Nigeria

The Center for Democracy and Human Rights, CEDEHUR, has ranked Kano State the “worst-governed and least-performing” state in the country since the new administration took over in May 2023. The Center made the claim on Tuesday in Abuja while unveiling its quarterly report on governance across the 18 states with new governors. According to the Centre, the assessment was made based on the transparency, accountability, quality of appointees and impact of policies on the citizens of the 18 states. The Police in Jigawa State have arrested an 18-year-old boy, Safiyanu Lawan, for allegedly faking his own abduction in a bid to extort money from his father.
