Assistant Controller of Prisons in Niger State Abducted, NCS Confirms

Confirmation has been received from the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) regarding the abduction of Assistant Controller Abdulraman Ibrahim Gelele in Niger State. Gelele, who was part of the NCS team in Niger State, was taken while traveling on the Minna-Ilorin Road on the 17th of April, 2024. It has been reported that the abductors initially contacted Gelele's family and the NCS Command in Minna, but later ceased all communications. Comptroller Mohammed Isa of the NCS in Niger State issued a statement on Friday, confirming the incident. The statement, conveyed through Command spokesperson Rabiu Mohammed Shuaibu, included an appeal for prayers for Gelele's safe release and freedom from captivity.
